It's Pretty Quiet Around Here...

As I shared in our previous post Jordan left for a mission trip in Haiti last

Friday.  Sunday Nicholas left for Florida for a Campus Life trip!  Campus Life is

a dynamic Christian group for kids and Nicholas looks forward to going each

week.  When he found out they were going to Florida for spring break he

begged  asked to go.  To be honest, our entire family was sort of surprised as

Nick sticks pretty close to home; so for him to want to travel 800 plus miles

away, for five days, we all felt that was a HUGE step!!  Papaw and Grandma

were very excited too and as we had already committed to help Jordan go to

Haiti, they offered to cover Nicholas Florida trip, and to say he was thrilled

was an understatement!!!

However, with Jordan in Haiti and Nicholas in Florida it is very calm and quiet

around our home.  While quiet and peaceful is nice, we are extremely excited

to have the boys home and for them to share all of their stories of their spring

break trips with us!

Jordan is in Haiti...Safe and Sound!!!

Tonight we received a L-O-N-G awaited text message then phone call that

Jordan and the Haiti 2012 team made it safe and sound to Haiti.  We knew

their flight landed safely through word of mouth yesterday however this mama

just needed to have some DIRECT communication with her baby!

The first words out of his mouth after he told me "Mom we just got text and

phone service.  This place is AMAZING.  My heart is already changed and our

work hasn't even began"...was "Can I talk to Gabbie"?  We had two other

couples over and there were three toddler girls running around giggling and

playing however when Gabbie heard it was Jordan and he wanted to talk with

her she stopped everything to talk to her brother.

I know it's a grainy picture but I "borrowed" it from a friend.  This is the 2012

Haiti team prior to leaving yesterday.  Please feel free to pray that God keeps

them all safe and healthy while they are gone. We also pray they will be God's

hands and feet while they are there and that the residents of Haiti may come

to know Christ through their words and even more through their action and

works of love.
