If you notice the glow around Jordan it is because he is truly at the height of his glory! Our family had the opportunity to attend the New Mexico Lobo's vs Dayton Flyer's basketball game. The coach of the Lobo's has been a family friend for decades and allowed us to go watch warm ups and included Jordan when they were shooting around. Jordan was also able to spend additional time with the team during the weekend as we all stayed in the same hotel and he couldn't have been anymore excited! Steve is a great example of a coach who truly cares about the kids on his team and is an excellent role model for them to follow ~ so nice and refreshing to see!!!
Time was spent hanging out in the pool which was sooooooo relaxing!
To say Gabriella has captured her daddy's heart is an understatement!
When the princess awoke from her nap Sunday afternoon we were...can you guess...in another gym watching the basketball game! She pulled out her red and white pom pom to help root the Lobo's on!
While in Dayton we were blessed to meet the fiance and daughter of an old friend! We had a wonderful time reminiscing about old times while getting to know Monica and her beautiful daughter Anna, also adopted from China. Gabriella and Anna became instant friends and we are looking forward to sharing more time together in the future:)
A wonderful weekend was had by all and we couldn't think of a better way to start off the New Year!!
I have concluded that the accumulation of wealth, even if I could achieve it, is an insufficient reason for living. When I reach the end of my days, a moment or two from now, I must look backward on something more meaningful than the pursuit of houses, land, stocks and bonds ~ nor is fame of any lasting benefit. I will consider my earthly existence to have been wasted unless I can recall a loving family, a consistent investment in the lives of people, and an earnest attempt to serve the God who made me. Nothing else makes much sense.
